Youth activity at Fraglia Vela Malcesine

Young activity for kids and teenagers is a key aspect of our association and this is the reason why Fraglia invests a large part of its resources to offer a dynamic, educational and constantly evolving sports environment.

At Fraglia over than 70 young athletes choose to train daily and make sailing and windsurfing their sport.

What can be the route towards sailing?

The VelaScuola project

Thanks to VelaScuola project, the young and future athletes of sailing can reach Fraglia for the first time together with their school class in Primary and Secondary School.

It is an arrangement of the Italian Sailing Federation in cooperation with Italian Ministry of Education made to promulgate sailing inside schools, in particular about environment comprehension and respect on it.

The FVM Sailing School

Structured and well organized, the FVM Sailing School for kids and teenagers is synonyms of safe and fun teaching of sailing in Malcesine, Lake Garda.

The children are accompanied by federal instructors during the formative course which has the final target of increasing water and lake’s confidence and of learning basic skills of navigation to reach good autonomy.

The FVM Agonistic Teams

The FVM Agonistic Teams represent the soul of the youth activity of Fraglia and are the next step after the Sailing School.

Under the guidance of Sports Director Giuseppe Devoti and Technical Director Ylena Carcasole and all our coaches, our boys and girls follow an annual calendar that includes theoretical and practical training and trips for the national and international Regattas.
Every year the successes of FVM Athletes are numerous and you can find them in the Roll of honour.

Italian Sailing Federation instructor training course

Sixteen-year-old boys and girls can participate in the ADI course (Teaching Assistance Instructor) which is an important figure in the Sailing School; the assistant instructor can demonstrate during sailing lessons and drive RIBs without children on board.

With legal age, taking part in the training course to become an instructor of the Italian Federation Vela youth can obtain the degree of First Level Instructor and they can become responsible for the sailing courses.

Since 2016 we have trained more than 20 First Level Instructors, starting from our teams.
